I know, I know, it's been like 6 months since I've had an update. So I will recap the events of the last few months briefly.
MARCH
We celebrated Easter with Reed and three egg hunts, one at home, one at MimiPops, and a neighborhood hunt. The best part was all the eggs were fake, so no stinky messes. He discovered the prize egg, which contained $1. This, coincidentally, is the same amount of money that used to be in the prize eggs I found when I was a little girl. It obviously hasn't been adjusted for inflation. Nevertheless, he opened the egg and yelled "Cash" and couldn't have been happier.
Also during March, I took Reed to the Zoo. As always, we had a great time checking out all the animals. He particularly enjoys the aviary and the seals, so those are always the first stops. We took a trip through the Oklahoma Trails where Reed had a confrontation with a very robust turkey. It would walk right up to the glass and stare at Reed, and then Reed would walk up to glass and stare at turkey. It was like in high school when you knew a fight was about to break out, but then the teacher would come and break it up. It was pretty funny. Then we saw the rarest of all species, not seen since the late 1980's in Oklahoma: the fullet, that's right, a female mullet. I had to get a picture otherwise I had no proof that it still existed. So I have included it for your enjoyment.
APRIL
At the beginning of April, I accompanied Reed to the Stephen Fite concert at Rose State College. The Children's Place at SWMC takes a trip every year to see this one-man show that gets the kids involved with singing and dancing. It was once again a great show and Reed had a blast. He is still talking about Stephen Fite. In fact, the other day I was giving him a bath and he was playing with a foam syringe and a cone. He took the syringe and using suction fixed it to the cone and was using it as a megaphone saying " Wadies and gentuman, welcome to the Stephen Fite concert. I hope you enjoy the show". I can't remember what I wore today and he remembers everything about that concert! Anyway, the whole gang was there and had a great time.
